Relay for Life women's wellness seminar

The team Gynomites relay for Life had our first major fundraiser.  Our women's wellness workshop was a big success.  We had 8 speakers on various female topics including skin care, nutrition, yoga, and menopause.  We raised $450 for our team.  Hazleton Relay will be held at the Hazleton High School track May 31.  Go Team Gynomites.

2013 YWCA PEARL Dinner

I was able to join a table full of past PEARL award recipients for this wonderful event.  I was the keynote speaker in 2008 and PEARL winner in 2012.  I loved returning and watching my friend State Representative Tarah Toohil receive her much deserved PEARL award from the YWCA.  This award celebrates the accomplishments of todays successful business women.

2013 Pennsylvania International Orientation

2013 Mrs. International orientation.  I am thrilled to be competing with so many accomplished women.  I loved seeing Kim our reigning Mrs International again.  I have been following her recipes in our local paper where her column is published.  I was also happy to take Kaitlyn Marhelko and newbie Alexa Martino out for the orientation experience.  I love mentoring new young ladies into the world of Pageantry.

Taste of Theater Feb 23, 2013

Loved sharing the evening with the second annual Taste of Theater chairwoman Gail Martino.  We raised $8,000 for the Pennsylvania Theater of the Performing Arts.  I loved being on this fun committee and what a fantastic event.  The evening was topped off with a fantastic young Elvis impersonator.  I hope this event continues to be a highlight in our community theater season.

Cancer Society Telethon

 

Another successful Telethon.  $100,000 raised for American Cancer Society.  I am so proud to be invited to speak on the importance of womens cancer issues and screening each year.  I also love being proud momma watching my daughters perform on TV.

Season of Hope Gala Auction 2012

Running the auction with our auctioneer golf pro Clark Lewis was exhilarating.  The money we raised with this event helped us surpass our $50,000 goal for the night.  I can only imagine all the patients and families we will help with the money raised. This American Cancer Society event was a huge success.

I am very proud of my first attempt at serious cake decorating.  My daughter Jackie is addicted to duct tape and wanted a duct tape cake.  This is completely edible and the kids loved it. 

Hunt for a Heart Halloween Event October 22, 2012

Thank you Alex Walser for hosting this fantastic event in memory of your sister.  Our team won first prize for costume as we portrayed a heart transplant team.  We even had a fresh cow heart compliments of The Country Butcher.  I was the pink haired scrub nurse. The money raised went to the American Heart Association.

Geisinger Annual Breast Cancer Tea October 13, 2012

Joining me for this wonderful event celebrating Professionals and Survivors is my friend and hair dresser Mary Yanuzzi.  Three courageous survivors shared their stories and struggles.  The event was attended by 200 people.

Menopause the Musical October 3, 2012

We treated the Staff of A Womans Place to a night out to see Menopause the Musical.  The production really hit home for us as gynecologic professionals.  I loved that they handed out fans to the audience.

Pennsylvania National American Miss Pageant August 10,2012

I am so proud of my girls for their fantastic performances at our State NAM pageant.  Julia first place in Spokesmodel and Jackie 3rd runner-up in Junior Pre-Teen.  They also placed in sportswear modeling and actress.  We cannot wait to return next year.

Legally Blonde production PTPA August 2012

My first musical production and my solo involves singing while jumping rope!!!  Playing the part of Brooke Wyndham the work out video queen was certainly a challenge.  Singing "whipped into shape" while jumping rope in front of nightly crowds was exciting.  Many of my patients did not even realize it was me.  The best part of this production was sharing the stage with my daughter Julia.

Miss Pennsylvania Junior High America Pageant August 5, 2012

I love watching my daughters compete in pageants as much as I love competing in them.  I am so proud of Julia for her wonderful experience in the Junior High pageant. I know why everyone says we are clones after looking at this picture.

Valley Days August 4, 2012

Valley Days is a huge fundraiser for the Conyngham Valley.  This is an event the entire community gets involved in.  Where else can you find 3 doctors and a lawyer making waffles and ice cream all day.  Our waffle team included from left Atty. Lou Mattioli, Dr. Tom Pollock, Me, and Dr. Chris my husband.  Our 2 helpers included Tommy and Owen Pollock.

Mainland Regional High School 25th reunion August 2012

Short treck back to South Jersey to attend my high school reunion.  I was able to catch up with many old friends.  The best part of the evening was spent with my two best friends in the world Joanne Eisele and Angela Wolfe.  We have been friends since before Kindergarten.  I will always be a Jersey Girl at heart.

Rails to Trails June 9, 2012

This wonderful event celebrates Hazletons effort to convert old rail lines into safe bike paths for our community.  The boyscouts and Rep Tara Toolhil were there to enjoy the day.  Free helmets and safty checks were the highlight of the day.

Bikers for Boobies June 9, 2012

After speaking on the importance of self breast exam at the bikers for boobies rally, I was lucky enough to enjoy a ride with Mike Valovich.  Mikes wife Kelly is a friend, patient and breast cancer survivor.  She set up this event as a fundraiser for NEPA Survivors Group. 

United States Golf Little League opening day June 8, 2012

 

The USGLL is a fantastic organization to help kids excel in golf.  My daughters are pictured here with Pennsylvania State Representative Tara Toolhil who came to drive the first ball off the tee and encourage the kids.  I love walking the courses each week with the teams and helping them with their game.

2012 Relay for Life -TEAM GYNOMITES- June 1, 2012

Members of the Team modeling contenders for the decorate a bra for a cause contest.  This was one of the many fund raisers by some of the more than 20 teams present that day.  The American Cancer Society raised over $100,000 that day.  More Survivors More Birthdays!

Performing Arts Alliance Dance and Modeling competition May 2012

Our 7th year traveling to this 4 day competition with Tracey's Academy of Dance.  Julia is ready for gown competition in modeling, while Jackie is performing a novelty routine to Nerds and Weirdos.  I love spending this long weekend with just my girls each year.  They say it is our special time.

WYLN T.V. teen health show taping 4/26/12

Today I appeared on WYLN T.V. to discuss the importance of the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine.  This revolutionary vaccine can actually help prevent cervical cancer.  What an amazing addition to the medical treatments we have available to fight our ongoing battle with this dreaded disease.

Domestic Violence Service Center Golf Tournament May 11, 2012

Loved spending the day with a future LPGA player my daughter Jacqueline.  Raising money for the D.V.S.C. and its many programs was very rewarding.  I am proud to be on the board of this wonderful organization.

Clean-up America Day April 21, 2012

The entire family got involved to help our neighbors and clean up Sugarloaf.  I do not think the kids will ever smoke after all the cigarette butts they picked up.

Friends of Scouting Dinner April 12, 2012

The annual Friends of Scouting dinner is a wonderful fund raiser for our local Troops.  Our son C.J. is a active member of Troop 207 and very close to his Eagle Scout, so this cause is very important to me.

Married again in Las Vegas April 2012

The kids loved spending Easter week in Las Vegas.  This impromptu renewal of our love for each other in a classic Vegas wedding chapel will always be memorable.

Valley Elementary School Craft Fair

We had another successful craft fair.  The homeroom moms came through with the tricky trays. My co-chairwoman Cindy and I could be seen 1 mile away wearing our PTA shirts!!!

The GIRLS TV show

I loved appearing on THE GIRLS TV show to discuss the good and the bad regarding pageants.  I was surprised to find out that the hostess Janine actually competed before.
